Final Fantasy 14: the “Endwalker” expansion has been delayed

Fans of “Final Fantasy 14” will have to be a little more patient before accessing the next expansion called “Endwalker”. In an announcement, director and producer Naoki Yoshida stated that the DLC will now come out on December 7, 2021. Even if the update has been postponed, the developers have still provided players with a new launch trailer.

In a long blog post, Yoshida said that the delay is solely his responsibility. He revealed that since he has been overseeing the original “Final Fantasy 14”, he has been finding it difficult to balance his position as producer of the project and his role as the director in charge of development. He also mentioned that he, alongside the other creators of the RPG game, have constantly been looking for ways to improve and optimise all the small details of the expansion which ultimately resulted in the delay.

Fortunately, the new release date is not too far from the original one. Furthermore, it is better that the developers take their time so as to provide fans with a good final product. For those interested, “Endwalker” will also have an early access phase which will begin on December 3. “Final Fantasy 14” is available on PC systems and consoles.
